NEW YORK (AP) — Harvey Weinstein will remain locked up in New York as a court works out whether he should stay in a city jail while awaiting retrial, or be sent to California to serve his prison sentence for rape there.
The fallen movie mogul denied his consent for California's extradition request during a brief court hearing Thursday, and will remain behind bars in New York for now.
Weinstein, 72, was returned to the city's Riker's Island jail just days ago from a city hospital.
Cambria Co., PA (WJAC) — Popular convenience store chain Rutter's has reportedly closed a deal to purchase over 8 acres of land along Scalp Avenue in Richland Township. Officials say the new store will be located at 1609 Scalp Ave., the site of the former Dewar's Auto shop.
According to a press release, the land deal was brokered by Bob Varner of Pennswood Commercial Reality.
Officials add that the new store will be approximately 12,000 square feet and will include numerous gas and diesel pumps, as well as several large truck bays.

Officials say Brian Gunderson was found guilty last November on charges of obstructing an official proceeding and assaulting, resisting or impeding law enforcement.
Authorities say Gunderson is accused of "joining a mob of rioters" inside the Parliamentarian’s Office of the building.
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. (WJAC) — Penn State University officials say students who didn't complete their pre-arrival COVID-19 tests may have their registration canceled.
In a release, university officials say 24,000 students were selected for pre-arrival COVID-19 testing. According to the release, students were notified through their Penn State email address and were given instructions on how to complete the at-home tests. The results of those test were to be submitted to the university by August 24 in order for students to attend classes or participate in other activities on campus.

Clearfield Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities with the Lawrence Township Police Department say a Curwensville man is facing charges after he allegedly exposed himself to a child inside a store.
According to the affidavit, police say officers were dispatched to the Ollie's Bargain Outlet, located along Daisey Street Extension, on Saturday for a report of an adult male who had exposed himself to a child inside the bathroom of the store.
