Steelers to release veteran CB Ahkello Witherspoon

Pittsburgh (WJAC) — According to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, the Pittsburgh Steelers have reportedly informed veteran cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon that he will soon be released. Witherspoon, who was traded to Pittsburgh prior to the 2021 season, has played in 13 total games in two seasons with the Steelers. He started seven of those games. Witherspoon has 8 career interceptions, half of which came during his time with Pittsburgh. He was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in 2017.

Everett RR Company hosting special excursion event to benefit K4 restoration project

Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — As we told you on Thursday, the Railroaders Memorial Museum in Altoona will be hosting a special event to commemorate the 105th anniversary of the K4 1361 steam locomotive rolling out of the Altoona production shops. The museum currently has a fundraising campaign underway to cover the restoration costs. Another railroading heritage site, the Everett Railroad Company, is stepping up to help by offering passengers a special steam excursion.

Family hosting first ever darts tournament in honor of local bar owner & his son

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — If you need weekend plans, a Centre County staple is hosting a dart tournament in honor of two Penns Valley natives. The "Musser Memorial Dart Tournament" is set for this Saturday at the Frosty Hook Hotel in Spring Mills. Bob Musser and his son, Bobby, both passed away in August. Bob was the longtime owner of the popular bar and restaurant. The first-ever dart tournament is benefiting Penns Valley Area High School student athletes, as two scholarships will be awarded to a senior volleyball and baseball player.

RICHMOND, Va. (7News/AP) — Dozens of graduating students at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) walked out Saturday, May 11 during an address by Gov. Glenn Youngkin in Richmond. While some of the estimated 100 students and family members who left during the Republican governor’s speech showed support for Palestinians, others held signs signaling opposition to Youngkin’s policies on education, according to WRIC-TV. Videos on social media showed that as Gov. Youngkin began his speech, several students stood up and walked out.

Woodward-area woman accused of murder claims PTSD, Battered Woman Syndrome

Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — The Woodward woman charged with murder now says a mental condition will be part of her defense. That’s the latest in the case involving Brittany Guisewhite, who is accused of stabbing a man to death at her Woodward-area home in April of last year. In a new court filing, Guisewhite's attorney says a doctor could provide expert testimony that she, at the time of the deadly stabbing, was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and would meet the criteria for Battered Woman Syndrome.

WASHINGTON (TND) — Al Pacino, 83, will soon be a father to his fourth child with his girlfriend. Noor Alfallah, 29, is currently eight months pregnant with the "Scarface" star's baby, according to TMZ. The two have been romantically linked and seen together since April 2022. Pacino is also father to daughter Julie Marie, 33, and 22-year-old twins Anton and Olivia. The news comes after fellow veteran actor Robert De Niro, 79, welcomed his seventh child.
