Ferndale woman charged with attempted vehicular assault after heated argument

A 31-yeard-old Ferndale woman has been charged, accused of trying to run down two people with a truck. According to a probable-cause affidavit, on Sunday Lacey Hamilton, Vickroy Avenue, and two people had a heated argument at Hamilton’s home. During the argument, Hamilton allegedly told the two that she was going to “kill” them. The two people told police that Hamilton was “drunk and high.” According to the affidavit, after the two people left the home following the argument, Hamilton drove a red Dodge Truck on a sidewalk along Ferndale Avenue and tried to strike the two — who were on foot.

Girl Scout camp set to close March 31 in Jefferson County

BROCKWAY - Girl Scouts of Western Pennsylvania announced Tuesday that they'll be closing four camps across the state on March 31, including Camp Curry Creek in Jefferson County. Juvenile suspect sought in Erie school shooting turns self in

ERIE, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say a juvenile suspect being sought in a shooting that injured another student inside a northwestern Pennsylvania high school has turned himself in to police. Erie police said multiple shots were fired just after 9:20 a.m. Tuesday in a hallway at Erie High School. The injured student was said to be in stable condition. Officials said due to the suspect's age, only juvenile counts would be filed.

Tatman Run Beach closed following high bacterial water sample result

HUNTINGDON COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Raystown Lake announced Friday on Facebook that Tatman Run Beach is closed. According to the post, the closure of the beach is the result of high bacteria levels in a water sample. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers say the beach will reopen when water sample results are cleared for public access.
