Pa (WJAC) — The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission announced that it will reopen its service plazas on Friday, after they were briefly shutdown to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
All 17 of the PA Turnpike service plazas will be reopened Friday at 7 a.m., according to a news release, and restrooms inside the plazas will be open 24/7.
The Turnpike Commission also said that limited food options will be available, for takeout only, from 7 a.
A 28-year-old Somerset Borough man has been charged with several felony counts after police found child pornography files on his cellphone and computer.
According to a probable-cause affidavit, on Tuesday, officers with the state Attorney General’s Office and state police executed a search warrant on Jacob Ringler’s West Patriot Street home.
Police seized Ringler’s cellphone and desktop computer during the search.
A forensic examiner found 20 files on Ringler’s phone that reportedly depicted child sexual abuse, according to the affidavit.
BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Patrick Isgan is facing charges for a reported role he played as Chestnut Ridge's Middle School Vice Principal in not allegedly not reporting sexual assault incidents involving students.
Isgan made a court appearance Wednesday looking to lower his bail. A judge's decision was made to reduce the bail amount from the original $1 million to $100,000 with only 10 percent ($10,000) having to be posted.

RIDGWAY - The Ridgway Triathlon has been a popular community event in Elk County for the past 36 years.
However, executive director of the Ridgway YMCA Mary Lynne Bellotti said participation has continued to dwindle year after year.
"We're not drawing the numbers that we use to," Bellotti said. "We don't know if it's because less teams are participating and more individual athletes are doing all three events themselves."
The Ridgway Triathlon is unique because participants either canoe or kayak instead of swimming.
