Penn State recognizes military students at annual 'Honor Cord ceremony'

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Penn State University military students who will be graduating this weekend were recognized Thursday night in Centre County. Penn State's seventh annual military honor cord ceremony was held at the Hintz Alumni Center. Organizers say about 30 students were at the ceremony from Penn State University Park and Penn State World Campus. The red, white and blue honor cords were given to graduates who are veterans of the U.

2 Alabama drill sergeants found dead at Fort Jackson

The alleged students who sent in are State College Area High School rising senior, and one incoming Penn State Freshman. Tornado in Jefferson County marks sixth in Pa. this year

BROCKPORT, Pa. - The National Weather Service (NWS) in Pittsburgh was out assessing storm damage Friday in Jefferson and Elk counties, just days after a tornado touched down. Warning Coordination Meteorologist Fred McMullen said western Pennsylvania averages six tornadoes each year. McMullen said Tuesday's tornado was the sixth. McMullen said the NWS was assessing the damage Friday to find where the tornado began and ended, and to determine how long it was on the ground.
