Bomb threat prompts evacuation of Philadelphia area polling place

Radnor, Pennsylvania (WCAU) — Authorities say a Philadelphia area polling place was evacuated after the high school received a bomb threat. Radnor High School was evacuated Tuesday evening after police say the school received a threat, via email. The school is used as a polling place for two precincts. There were about 100 people on campus at the time of the incident. Police say they were evacuated, and voters were relocated to a nearby elementary school.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Authorities in Jefferson County say a Punxsutawney man is behind bars after he reportedly sent "graphic" sexual messages to whom he thought was a 15-year-old girl. Police say in March, 54-year-old Scott Clark Sr. reportedly began communicating with members of the online group 814 Pred Hunters, who were posing as the teen. Investigators say on Tuesday, Clark reportedly attempted to meet the "teen" for sex.

Altoona Salvation Army making changes to operations to mitigate spread of COVID-19

ALTOONA, Pa (WJAC) — Officials with the Salvation Army in Altoona say they are trying to cut down on the number of people in the building and are limiting access. Capt. Larry Fulmer says the food pantry will be open Tuesdays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Fulmer says anyone needing food in Blair County should call the office ahead of time and set up an appointment. Fulmer adds that he is expecting an even greater need than normal.

Crews battle fire at abandoned Ferndale home; police officer transported

FERNDALE BOROUGH, Pa. (WJAC) — Several area crews battled a fire Saturday evening at an abandoned home in Ferndale Borough. Officials say the fire broke out just before 6 p.m. Saturday at a home along the 500 block of Vickroy Ave. According to Upper Yoder Township police chief Donald Hess, one officer was transported for treatment of smoke inhalation after rushing into a neighboring home when the flames began to spread.

Windber woman killed after being run over by her own vehicle

UPDATE | Somerset Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities are providing new details about what led to a vehicle versus pedestrian incident in Hollsopple Wednesday afternoon. Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees says a Windber woman was killed after being run over by her own vehicle in the parking lot of Jet Beer Distributors. Lees identified the victim as 52-year-old Lisa McKee. Investigators say McKee reportedly exited her vehicle at the establishment and the vehicle drifted backwards and ran her over.

Destiny Marie Byassee was only 22 years old when she was in a frontal collision in her 2020 Chevy Malibu on June 11, 2023.
